4-H Livestock Shows
Pee Wee Livestock ShowBeef cattle, sheep, and a warm summer day…sound exciting to you? If you are a Rhea County 4-Her it does. These youth work hard all year to get their animals ready for the 4-H livestock show season. All of that hard work will culminate on June 9 at the Rhea County 4-H Livestock Show and Ag Day. Come on out and show your support. You will see several different breeds of beef heifers, steers, and cute little lambs. For the kids 8 and under, we will have a “pee-wee lamb show” where your kids will actually have the opportunity to handle and show a lamb…then get rewarded for it. Come on out with the family and enjoy a day ‘down on the farm’…you’ll be glad you did!

Antique Tractor Rodeo & Show
Antique Tractor ShowDo you have an antique tractor or engine? Do you enjoy seeing living history? Can you remember the Good Ole Days? If you answered “yes”, then the Ag Day Tractor Show and Rodeo is the place to be. Exhibitors have the opportunity to showcase their hobby and hard work to the world. Last year, spectators saw first-hand a 1948 H Farmall, WC Allis Chambler, WD Allis Chambler and a 1948 McCormick Deering WD9. This year the tractor show is expanding into a tractor rodeo which will include the slow race, barrel race, egg race and the highlight of the day, a tractor parade. If you would like to bring your tractor or antique engine, please feel free to contact Harold Fisher, Tractor Show and Rodeo chairman, at (423) 365-6862 (home) or (423) 280-8330 (cell). Download and complete the Tractor Rodeo & Show Registration form and either e-mail to Kelly Grant or mail to the UT Extension office at 125 Court Street, Unit 3, Dayton, TN 37321.

Attention Kids! Would you like to drive a tractor? If you answered yes, then we have the tractor for you! This year during our tractor rodeo, we will be having a pedal tractor pull for children ages 5-9. All participants will receive an award and prize money will be given to the top two finishers in each of the five classes. 1st place will receive $10.00 and 2nd place will receive $5.00. Come out and join the fun!

Inflatable Games
Do you have children that need to burn off some extra energy? If so, then you want them to enjoy the inflatable games at Rhea County Ag Day. Children of all ages enjoyed the obstacle course and moon walk throughout the day last year. The inflatables are FREE once you are inside the Ag Center grounds, and best of all, you can spend hours bouncing! NEW this year.....we will have a Spider Man 3 in 1 obstacle course, a bulldozer bounce and boxing battle (pictured at left)!

Concessions
4-H ConcessionsRhea County 4-H will be providing concessions for the 2nd Annual Ag Day. All proceeds raised from this event will help the Outdoor Meat Cookery team with travel and supplies for the Regional competition in August. A hamburger plate with chips and a drink will be available for $5.00. DeWayne Buckner of Homestead Beef Inc. will furnish the hamburger which is locally grown with no added hormones or antibiotics. If any business would like to make a donation to Rhea County 4-H to help with concession supplies, please contact Anna Johnson at the UT Extension office. We still need buns, condiments, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, chips and drinks.

Petting Zoo
Petting ZooA highlight of the Rhea County Ag Day activities is the farm animal petting zoo. Children and those of us who are still a kid at heart will have the opportunity to pet and see rabbits, a miniature horse, pygmy goats and chickens. Plans are still underway to have more exotic and farm animals for Ag Day. Be sure to come by and see what is new! If you have an exotic animal that you would like to put on display, please contact us.

Music
Entertainment is a big part of the Ag Day festivities, and this year is no exception. Our featured performers this year include Angela Davis, Jim Ricketts, Pickin’ and Dumplin’ and the Bush River Band. Bring a lawn chair and sit in the shade while you sip lemonade from the 4-H concession stand and enjoy southern gospel music and old-fashioned bluegrass.
